Stuck in the present

I am totally lost.

Okay, let's back-track a bit.

After I graduated from uni, what have I learned?

Uhm, apart from all those knowledge from workplace, what else have I learnt?

This is bad.

I realised that I haven't really "upgraded" myself.

The only course that I took is a Mandarin course which has long been forgone.

Hmm, okay, enough back-tracking. Future options of "upgrade":

1. Obviously continue pick up that Mandarin lingo (which bloody difficult)
2. Pick up Korean? (which is kinda suicidal since no.1 is not yet accomplished)
3. Learn more make-up (But I don't think I'll use this knowledge to become a make-up artist since I don't even bother to wear make-up to work)
4. Learn some musical instrument (Erm..drum may be interesting)
5. Learn baking?? (which was a crazy idea of C which is kinda interesting actually, but the thing is, I don't even have a proper kitchen, let alone baking utensils!)
6. Read management book (if I really want to pursue the path of opening my own business, as a matter of face, I did not have the slightest idea of managing a business.)

Gee, looks like I have been a slacker for the last 3 years. Oh well, blaming yourself is not a good starting point too I guess.

I wonder which one should I start first.

A peaceful melody...

I am hooked by this album from Adam Young (re: Owl City).

It would be nice if I could do a bit of sky sailing...^^

A celebratory dinner for our friend...^^

S has finally moving on from her beloved work-place (to another similar place apparently..lol).

And she's kind (and hopefully happy) enough to treat us (the two hungry monsters) at Trattoria 313.

C wanted the garlic bread but somehow it turned into fried calamari (S$9.00)? Hahaha. Anyway fried stuff cannot go wrong!

I opted for Creamy Mushroom Carbonara. I luv creamy pasta. ^^.

S was more daring as she ordered the Black Salmon Tagliatelle. Her teeth were still white after eating those anyway.

C (the plain girl) ordered a plain dish, Aglio Olio. Apparently it was not that nice and it was soaked in oil? Hmm I wonder whether it's really olive oil.

A celebration would not be complete without a yummy dessert - Tiramisu.

Are you, S? LOL

Simple and happy dinner..^^

Note-to-self: Have non-expensive lunch tomorrow.

Cozy Sunday Nite @ Oriole

Today was the last chance for us to sing K for only S$6 nett so of course we won't miss it.

After singing for 3 hrs, we walked around to Takashimaya to buy a greeting card for our friend. And there, we saw this sakura tree. The sign explains that it's real.

I thought sakura flowers are supposed to be pink but it's pretty in white too! ^^

As usual, we were getting hungry but we don't know where to eat. Anyway, we have a strong determination to try something new today. So we decided to hang out at Oriole since we heard about its nice coffee.

I luv my Cafe Mocha (S$6.00). Especially with the heart-shaped foam. Feels like drinking in Coffee Prince drama. LOL.

C has the Iced Vanilla Latte (S$6.50). Taste nice too!

This is the Oriole Burger (S$24.00). C doesn't really like the sauce but I like it though.

I have the Philly Cheese Steak (S$15.00). I only see this menu at Cafe World (in Facebook). It's nice to be able to eat the real one. Surprisingly good too!

I still feel bad for C because last time, due to unfortunate scheme, she has to buy her own birthday cake (I know, i know, shame on us who declare to be her friends..=P). So as a 'sin-offering', I bought here an overdue birthday cake - Chocolate Fudge Cake (S$6.50). Very chocolatey.

Oriole is a great place to relax. And I love their song selection too. Too bad, we didn't have the chance to hear the live band performing. Maybe next time...^^

Kolo meeeee....

Spent an evening at Vivo City because we need to purchase the tix for our one-day trip to Batam. I was quite surprised to find out that the ticket is only S$38.00 (I was prepared to pay around S$50.00 actually).

Spotted this cute tree in front of Starbucks...^^

My feet are sore after walking here and there in a mission to find a lightbulb and a heater switch for C!! (It was a bummer to find out later that she actually bought the wrong size..T_T)

I am ready to turn into a hungry monster.

Luckily, we managed to reach Jia Xiang Kolo Mee before I become a hungry monster. LOL.

Jia Xiang Mee @ S$6.40

If you try to find a noodle similar to Indonesian style of chicken noodle, here is the place. Yum!

Fried Wantons @ S$5.90

Although they are not as nice as Bakmi GM's pangsit goreng, they are not bad. Crunch Crunch!

Going home early with a full stomach...

I want wall mural!

These wall murals are so lovely...^^

Too bad I don't own the room since I am just a tenant. (Sigh)

I'll keep this idea in mind when I have my own house later. =)

Friday Nite Haul

I managed to get the eye crayon both in Equinox and Zephyr (S$20.00 each). And as a reward, I got the Topshop make up tote bag too! Yay!

While I was at it, I snatched one of the permanent crayon in Satchel (i.e. Brown). Will definitely try them on tomorrow..^^.

I simply can't resist cute stuffs! (Bad me!) So here are my additional hauls of the day:

2 pairs of ankle socks (they are just so damn cute!) and 2 pairs of earrings (I am a sucker for cute earrings too!).

OK, I admit, my main aim for today's shopping is actually not the items above. It's supposed to be for these beauty only:

Takashimaya & Metro are having a 10% - 20% off for most of their shoes brand..yippie!

I am indeed a happy girl (before checking my bank account)..LOL.

One of the days when I should have taken a leave and...

...directly make a dash to Topshop!

I just received an email saying that today is the launch of the Sandstorm makeup collection.
I've been eyeing that Equinox Eye Crayon for months!

Now I'm praying hard so that I'll still be able to grab one at the end of the day. (Rats! Why do I have to work today??)

Simple dinner after sweaty workout...

I was so disappointed to see that my fave body-jam instructor is not available today. There goes my Thursday-body-jam-nite.

But all hope not lost yet. I noticed that apparently there is body combat class at Paragon. But the thing is, they have it at the smaller room and with that amount of sweaty human beings inside the room...it's a freaking sauna!!!! (Good sweat = good work out?)

Of course, I don't feel like piggin' out at dinner time after that crazy work-out. So here is my humble dinner - BLT sandwich @ Provence (S$3.70).

I think Provence's sandwiches are value-for-money...^^.

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

Huh? It's only Wednesday?

Aargghh, it's only Wednesday!! Why does it take so long to reach weekend??

Anyway, today was not that bad. Why? Cuz I bought Gong Cha to keep me happy during the hectic working hour (not that hectic actually since I was working alone at client's place..^^).

Dinner time? I've been longing to try the Fish Marinade Burger @ MOS Burger (S$3.60).

I like the original Fish Burger better (and it's cheaper by 40 cents too!).

My mum scolded me for not having a flash light. Actually she's right. What if there's a blackout or worse situation (which I hope not happening) and I end up stuck in the dark. Well although it's a 2 dollars flash light, at least it works!

And this is what normally happened when I step my feet inside Daiso. 1 item becomes 4! Oh gosh! I better save some $$$ first before I go to Japan. LOL.

Fish Soup + Rainy weather = Niceeeeee

There's nothing better compared to a warm dinner during rainy weather. Slurp...

Fried Fish Soup @ Kopitiam Plaza Singapura
You know what. I just finished chatting with someone in the MSN. After chatting for nearly half an hour, I realised that I mistook her for my friend with the same name (blimey!). LOL.

I wonder if she feels weird since she's in Singapore and my other friend (the one whom I mistook her for) is in Jakarta.

whole day work + body combat + rainy weather + full stomach = brain error.

Morale of the story: Check the email address before you replying someone in MSN.

A little me-time on Sunday...

I have no plan this Sunday. Well actually, C asked me whether I wanna go out to have dinner with her but by the time she asked me, I already fully committed to not stepping out from my room in the evening. =P

Anyway, quick bite for lunch - Texas Chicken @ Pizza Sarpino (S$4.00). I went window-shopping for a bit and found NOTHING that catches my eyes. Sad. But my wallet will be smiling.

Finally I can try the carrot & walnut cake from Cedele (S$6.00). Not really a fan of carrot cake though. I still love my sinful chocolate cake.

Yes, I do! I do! I do!

A warm dinner at Blue Mountain Cafe

This is one of the day when we do not really know where to go or most importantly, what to do.

We planned to have a Rock Band session but unfortunately the place was fully booked...=(

So, I bring S and C to 313 since I need to buy a new pouch for my handphone anyway at HMV. And after browsing thru some stores (whereby C managed to grab 2 checkered shirts at Uniqlo), S decided that it's the time for her feet to take a break from walking.

Alas, we decided to have dinner at the nearest restaurant, Blue Mountain Cafe.

C is in that diet mood. That's explains her decision to order Caesar Salad (S$10.90). I still prefer the one at Soup Spoon. C wasn't look thrilled when she's eating this.

But the weird thing is, I thought someone in dietary mood should not have coffee rite? But C was craving for it so here it is - Coffee Latte (S$5.90)

S' attention was onto the pasta dish. And after careful (and long!) deliberation, she picked prawn aglio olio (S$10.90). She was quite content with the taste.

I was kinda torn between pasta and chicken and fish (like usual), but this time I decided to pick one of the signature dish - Grilled Rosemary Chicken (S$10.90). Quite yummy but the portion was kinda small.

Once S laid her attention on the dessert, she won't give up. And the result was a big strawberry mudpie with a cutey design. =)

What a sinful dessert. LOL.

Overall, the food is not bad. And the ambience is nice too. We can see people playing cards here.

New clothes for my E63...

I lost the old one when planning to give birthday surprise to C...hikz.

I plan to buy the one with the purple logo but unfortunately, HMV only has this one left. Oh well...yellow is the colour of the summer anyway. So, I'll grab it anyway. =)

Happy Sunday! =)

Alice in Wonderland Quotes

I was kinda wondering why do a lot of movies and dramas take reference from Lewis Carroll's book "Alice in Wonderland".

Apparently it does have a lot of wonderful quotes.

Source: La-Fleur-Du-Mal

and this is my favourite:

"But then, shall I never get any older than I am now? That'll be a comfort, one way -- never to be an old woman -- but then -- always to have lessons to learn."

Saturday afternoon lunch - Wendy's

I'm having PMS. I don't feel like going to gym. I don't even feel like walking a lot.

So, I decided to go to NEX which only 1 stop away (at least for now, before the Woodleigh MRT opens) and dash to..Wendy's!

The shrimp burger meal comes at S$6.70. I don't know why I haven't tried the beef burger but somehow I don't feel like trying it..hahaha.

The shrimp burger is not bad. Not that wonderful either thou. So-so?

Dinner like a king! (Erm...)

Okay! Okay! First of all I know that we should not eat so many carbs at night since they most likely become fat when we sleep.

BUT

I can't help it tonight. I was so hungry. T____T

Spotted a S$5.50 chicken cutlet curry at Man Jia Le Full House @ Central.

And I just finished gulping them all.

Oh well. Light dinner tomorrow. Promise! =P

An off-day activities

8.00 - I definitely had hit the snooze button on my Nokia E63 for the 5th time. My mind started to sing "Never Gonna Leave This Bed".

8.05 - 8.15 - Mind contemplated about taking a day off. Do I have anything urgent today? Nah. Do I owe anything to anyone? Nah. Do I have any lunch date? Nah. Tempted.

8.20 - Texted my colleague that I'm gonna take an off day.

9.00 - The workers outside started their drilling job. Bah. I won't give up. I will lay still on my bed.

11.00 - Apparently I totally sleep out for another 2 hrs. Time to wake up if I don't want to catch headache for real.

11.10 - 12.30 - Household and laundry chores.

12.40 - Humble lunch (Indomie)

2.30 - Getting bored. I totally can't afford to be locked at my room for the whole day. Tea time!

4.00 - Nice weather to sleep again. Nap! =)

6.30 - Hungry. Dinner time with my friend. Chargrilled chicken with 2 side dishes: Coleslaw and Baked Potato from Astons Express. Luv it!

I promise myself to work tomorrow! LOL.

Lazy Monday...

There is no Monday blues today. Why? Because I am so damn lazy and thus, take an off day. I just woke up at 11. =)

Haha totally. Oh well, I'll pay my off day in the next 4 days I guess. As for today, let's just enjoy!

Broccoli Mac & Cheese made into soup...

I know Mac & Cheese but I never how it's gonna taste in a form of soup. Hence, I decided to try the Broccoli Mac & Cheese soup from Soup Spoon. (S$7.10)

Tastes like normal cream soup. I still prefer my Mushroom Stroganoff though.

Preparation for an event @ Coffee Club

What a Saturday. S and I spent our Saturday busily buying a card (which I haven't written until now) and a gift for our friend 25th B-day. We walked from Dhoby Ghaut to Orchard. No wonder we were so tired. Thus, we look for a cozy place to rest our feet and pamper (or stuff) our stomach.

S didn't really want to sit outside so we went inside Borders and made our way to the behind Coffee Club (not the 24-hour). They only served sandwiches and light bites. But no need to worry as the sandwiches are..HUGE.

S ordered a Croque Monsieur Sandwich (what a name, dunno how to pronounce) - S$11.90.
She loves the green thingy on top of the sandwich (errr...oregano? I'm never good at this stuff!)

I ordered a Swiss Mushroom Melt sandwich. Looks like a upper class Subway huh? - S$10.80. The taste and scent of the mushroom was pretty strong. Glad that I loves eating mushroom. =)

Even though our stomach were already quite full from the two sandwiches above, it didn't hinder us from ordering a yummy dessert (especially since we were not really in a good mood). I love Coffee Club's mudpie. (Priced at S$9.50).

We felt kinda guilty after gallowing all the stuff above. So, we decided to burn a bit of calorie by walking to Somerset MRT. Hope that helps a bit..LOL.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Another K-drama session? Bring it on!

I was planning to improve my Chinese by watching Taiwanese drama or some sort. But....most of them are so..U-N-B-E-A-R-A-B-L-E!!!!! WHAT'S WITH THE DRAGGY LOVE?? Grahh!!

Okay, apparently watching Taiwanese drama can make someone angry (i mean..me).

So I decided to scratch that plan (can always go to Taiwan to study Mandarin..=P) and switched to..Korean drama!

I decided to follow a drama called Secret Garden. Why? Because my friend has been intoxicated by this handsome fella named Hyun Bin. Oh well, let's find out how charming this guy is...

I managed to pass the 1st episode and now, I am on the 5th episode!! Looking good. Will continue watching this for a while..=)

(Yes, Taiwanese directors should learn a lot from their Korean counterpart. Gee.)
