Days at Ang Mo Kio Street 65...

I thought when I took this job offer one year ago, I would be free from all those field work from audit days. Turns out...I WAS WRONG.

I still have to do an audit and this time around, I was isolated at Ang Mo Kio (well, it's better than Tuas but still..).

Yesterday, they gave me a room called Cosmopolitan (huh? where's my glass of Cosmo then?) and today, I have to work in their boss' office (erm...better check whether I touched anything sensitive in the room).

Lunch wise? Luckily, this building (Techpoint) has its own canteen so I won't be left starved to death here. Just found out that the price of the mixed rice here and near my own office at Raffles Place is the same (what a let down!).

At least today my own SM & AM were not around (until now), so it's kinda peaceful here. I might be able to knock off at 5 (evil smirk) if my AM doesn't suddenly show up from nowhere. Fingers crossed.

I'm 25! Aiming for an extraordinary year ahead....=)

Few years back, I am imagining how I am gonna be when I'm 25.

I have my loving family.
I have job.
I have good friends who I can rely on.
I have a place where I can call home.
And the most important thing is,
I know that all of the above things are blessings from God.

I want to make this year means something. Something extraordinary. And I do believe that all things are possible, all dreams are achievable when I am walking with God.

"God bless me and keep me,
God smile on me and gift me,
and make me prosper."

New Macbook Pro? So what.

I just bought a Macbook Pro 2 weeks ago and now Apple released its new Macbook Pro which of course, has the more upgraded hardware and software and whatever it is (I never get the hang of it somehow..XD).
So my colleague asked me "Would you have wait for this one if you knew that this was coming?"

Heck. Of course not. Honestly, I know that Apple was planning to release the new version of Macbook Pro but the thing is...

1. I was totally without laptop two weeks ago as my old-expected-to-crash-anytime-soon Toshiba died on me.

2. No laptop means I have to borrow Lenovo (which is my office laptop) home if I want to have some activities after work and carrying this laptop feels like carrying a heavy brick. My shoulders are sore as we speak.

3. 1 and 2 means I was so desperately need a new laptop. And thus, I don't really care about the new version. LOL.

After using outdated Toshiba for 4 years, honestly, the old version of Macbook Pro is already somewhat a lot faster. And it looks cool. (The new ones look the same with the older version so no worries on that aspect then..=P)

My forgotten hosiery...

I was reading through a fashion blog in the office (I was bored!) and I remembered that I still have one unopened pack of hosiery that I hauled during TopShop sale last December.

The good news - It's not a fishnet like what I remembered (a result of watching too many episodes of Jenny Humphrey I guess).

Hmm I'm thinking of how should I wear this. Combine with mini skirts? or shorts? Skirts may be better but of course, you won't catch me wearing this to office! (I'm shy..hihi).

Movie Nite with Bestie - King's Speech

Movie night during weekdays is the best (economically speaking).

Especially when you watch it with your best friend.

And your best friend brought cookies!! Awww so sweet!! =)

Apparently this cookie is called "Palmir" and S especially bought it for me from Sari Pan Pacific Hotel (Jakarta) because I didn't know what this cookie looks like. It tastes yummy (especially when I ate it while watching Colin Firth trying to speak properly..lol).

Quick dinner at Es Teler - Chicken Noodle. Oily as usual. But it still tastes better than the super spicy fried rice or fried noodle. Anyway it's S$4.50. So couldn't really complain a lot here. =P

We love the movie. King Speech is one of the strong candidate for the Oscar and I do hope Colin Firth wins!!

Craving for a Strawberry Shortcake...

I'm still disappointed because I could not get the famous Kki's Strawberry Shortcake. Therefore for today's dinner, I decided to buy one from Four Leaves.

It tastes quite yummy and it is not that pricey (S$3.20). Nom. Nom. Nom. Nom.

I should go for different cake tomorrow. LOL.

Another fully utilised Saturday...

It's Saturday..which means it's time to choose the following daytime activity: 1) Shedding fat at the gym or 2) Slacking at home. Since I've paid so damn expensive for a Fitness First membership and I didn't go there at all since last week, I must opt for option 1.

Sometimes I think exercise is kinda a devil circle. After exercise, you get hungry. And after you eat, you get fat. See the circle?

Anyway, I decided to explore Marina Bay Link to dapao lunch from Munch.

Pix & Mix Salad @ Munch
People who say salad is a healthy food have to revise his/her words since salad may not be healthy at all. Especially when you see the combination that I picked above included 2 kind of pasta which are all about carbs! But then, there were not many option available for the Pix & Mix Salad on Saturday. Oh well..no choice, rite? I don't want to eat pumpkin!

Evening-time? It's usually the time to spent with the galz. C wanted to let her scream out in a ktv session. But we felt super cheated by what the counter-girl at Partyworld KTV explained about the price. At the end we have to spend around S$25 per pax for a two-hours karaoke session. What. A. Rip. Off. And indeed we screamed our lungs out in anger. Stupid Partyworld.

Pissed and angry. We decided to end our Saturday night at Ginza Bairin since S has not had the chance to try the nice and crispy katsu.

Chicken Katsu Curry @ S$12.80

Ebi Fry Curry @ S$13.83

Pork Fillet Katsu Curry @ S$13.83
Everything that fried and crispy always go well with me. I luv it!

We ended the night by walking to Dhoby Ghaut from ION since the Japanese rice are fatty food. Huff. Huff.

Affordable lunch & dinner....

Y craved for Dimbullah coffee badly but she just made a hole in her wallet the day before for her colleague's farewell dinner. As such, we just held our weekly lunch date at Golden Shoes. I like Golden Shoes. Food are okay for the prices as low as S$3.00!!! But not all the food can make it though.

Roasted Pork Char Siew Rice @ S$3.00
Oh well, at least it was edible. And the portion was quite generous compared to the last one that I ate at Tuas. It took us only 20 minutes to finish our lunch. Off we go crossing the street to Dimbullah, Y's favourite coffee.

Iced Mocha Latte @ S$4.50
I am not really a coffee person. I'm more of a frappe person. The thing is, Dimbullah does not sell any frappe! Too bad. I don't really understand why Y love this very much. I still love my Starbucks frappe. LOL. And for the price of S$4.50, I'd rather drink bubble tea. =P

Friday nite date? Thanks to the movie Just Go With It, C and I were craving for...Pizza Hut. But the waitress told us that no more pizza for the day!!! How is that possible!! We didn't feel like eating baked rice and pasta. Thus, we switched place to cheaper alternative, BK.
Minute Maid Apple Cranberry
How come only BK sells this drink? Limited availability?
Onion rings & Fries
Onion rings at BK is still on the top of my list. It's been there since I was little. Still loving it! =D

Jennifer Aniston & Adam Sandler..luv them!!

Being spontaneous on a Friday night led to a sudden plan of catching a movie without any reservation which resulted in a..desperate queue to get tickets. Usual crazy Friday night at the movies in this tiny island.

I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to get tickets for Just Go With It and so prepared to opt for plan B (i.e. No Strings Attached) or worse plan C (i.e. What Women Want). Luckily we managed to get tickets although we had to sit FRONT ROW. No problemo!

Jen & Adam - Don't they look sweet together? <3
Like a normal rom-com, it's funny with its happy and sad moments. But overall, I don't really mind a rom-com to run away from the boredom of working days.

I sincerely wish that Jennifer will find the perfect guy in her real life (damn you Brad for opting for that sexy buxom who loves having kids). Adam may not be a bad idea, no? Oh wait, he's married. Oh well...looks like it's not easy to find the one, even for Jennifer Aniston.

Is this blog turning into a food blog?

Looks like this blog is mostly about food? Hahaha. Trying different kind of food for dinner is kinda my "thing" at the moment. It's basically what keeps my working days interesting (especially when I got isolated at Tuas for these few days).

Nasi Lemak Set B @ Lee Wee & Brothers
It's just a nasi lemak set but the sambal is quite good. And it's only 3 bucks. Value for money. LOL.

Roselle Tea with small pearls @ Drink Tea
Okay, first of all. What is roselle? Apparently it's a hibiscus thingy. Oh well I don't really care as long as it tastes good. Ha-Ha. It was quite refreshing. If only the size was bigger. S$2.40 seems pricey for that size of cup. Come on!! KOI's cup was way bigger.

Bacon Omelette Burger @ Freshness Burger
I have to open the burger a bit in order to snap the bacon bits on the top. When I see the size, it reminds me of MOS Burger. Tastes so-so. Since it comes at higher price (S$4.50), maybe I should stick back to MOS. =P

Everything beautiful in it's time...

This song always reminds me of my Dad.

I will always believe that whatever bad things happened to me right now, I still have a bright future because I believe that...

Ada waktu di hidupku
Pencobaan berat menekan
Aku berseru mengapa ya Tuhan
Nyata kan kehendak-Mu

Jalan Tuhan bukan jalanmu
Jangan bimbang ataupun ragu
Nantikan Tuhan jadikan semua
indah pada waktunya

Pada Tuhan masa depanku
Pada Tuhan kuserahkan hidupku
Nantikan Tuhan berkarya
Indah pada waktunya

Hari esok tiada kutahu
Namun tetap langkahku maju
Kuyakin Tuhan jadikan semua
indah pada waktunya.

Weird combination of dinner...

What a day. I have a long way to go home. Tuas - Yishun - Ang Mo Kio - Bishan - Serangoon - Potong Pasir. So to make myself happier, I finally bought KOI at Bishan after one year absence without it. Tastes great!

Bubble Milk Tea @ S$2.40
And went on to NEX to buy my fave Broccoli & Cheese from Wendy's. Yummy goodilicious. =D

Broccoli & Cheese @ Wendy's
Will be stuck at Tuas again tomorrow. Oh well, hope we can finish it up tomorrow and say buhbye to it.

The Spontaneous Valentine's Day Dinner

In the first place, I did not have dinner plan. My initial plan is to spend my V-day punching and kicking with sweat at Fitness First. And by the time it reached 4 pm, I knew that my plan was crumbling perfectly thanks to my boss who's deliberately take MC on the perfect timing and my 'nice' client who..desperately wanted the 'thing' to be sent to them by today.

Anyway, enough with a bit of my Monday office-fiasco. Since the main plan failed, it's time for plan B. And thus, I met up with C, to celebrate V-day at the Handburger (313 Somerset).

We chose the set meal which comes with a burger + side dish + drinks. The price of the set meal depends on which type of burger you choose.

Caesar Salad
The Caesar Salad tastes quite OK. A bit similar to the one at Soup Spoon. In a smaller bowl. =P

Onion Rings
The onion rings still cannot beat BK's. It's hard to defeat a long time favourite thou. =P
The Original Handburger
I ordered the original handburger since I was in the mood to eat some beef. And it tastes quite yummy.
The Works Burger
The Works Burger seems a LOT to me but C managed to finish it before me. She's a bit biased when it comes to egg. But I can tell this burger is kinda nice too.
Total bill for 2 pax came at S$32.49. Quite normal for Singapore standard I supposed.

Happy Valentine Day. =D

A very short Sunday...with Sarpino's and Subway.

Sunday always passes in a swift move for me. Before I knew it, it's already Monday. Sad.

Anyway, I've been wanting to go to NCC this Sunday and thus, on the way back from church, able to grab my hands on that Sarpino's Pizza. =P

Mediterranean Pizza @ S$4.00
I am definitely gonna get hungry again after only 1 slice of pizza. A cookie would not hurt. =)
White Choc Chip Macadamia @ S$1.20
That summarized my Sunday. A bit boring isn't it? Oh well, I don't dare to look around at the shops cuz I was in a tight budget after I burn my wallet for a beauty called Macbook Pro.

Manna Story Re-visited

It was our usual Saturday gathering and guess what, we were end up at Plaza Singapura again. Oh boy! S hasn't tried the new Korean joint yet. Thus, we quickly made our way to Manna Story.

Ice Cream Sandwich @ $3.50

Jajjang-myeon @ $10.80

Sidedishes (Free + Refillable)

Beef BBQ @ S$11.80
The taste part, I'm not sure whether it's an authentic Korean dish or not since I've never been to Korea myself. But, I have to say that the portion is a LOT. At the end of my dinner, I feel like I'm a Gumiho (nine-tailed fox in Korean legend that like to eat beef).

Black Swan - A lasting impression...

I've been a fan of Natalie Portman and I was so excited when I heard she's going to be starred in a ballet movie called Black Swan. Although I can't really understand ballet, I know the story of Swan Lake (thanks to lots of ballet manga that I read when I was a kid).

One thing that I didn't know is that this movie is gonna make my heart pumping. Natalie totally kicked ass in her psychotic dancer role. It made me stressed too with all the scratching, touching and stabbing. Oh boy.

It totally one of those movies which has a lasting impression. What a "perfect" Saturday night movie. I couldn't believe I just paid 8 bucks to be stressed out. LOL.

Lo Hei 2011 at Kiseki Japanese Buffet

I was quite sad when my Boss said the location for the Lo-Hei this year won't be the same as last year. I could say that the place for the event is a bit degraded. But since I was not the one paying for the food, I would not say anything. =P

Looking at the bright side, I never try Kiseki before so I guess it won't be that bad. At least I would be a able to try something new for free. Yay!

Kiseki is located exactly at the same place where Shokudo was used to be (i.e. at B1 level The Heeren). My colleague kept saying that it's really value for money. Oh well, compared to Kuishin Bo, I guess she's right.

They do have a wide range of food such as sashimi, sushi, tempura and teppanyaki. But the taste is just...so so to me. I could say that Kuishi Bo is way better (maybe due to the difference in the price?).

After lunch, I have to fork out S$10 to be a team-player and pick the number for the lottery of S$10million. Fingers crossed!

It's a new era!!

I've been without laptop for the last few days and I can only say that I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE. After many deliberations and some tempting and also, useless advices....I've decided to buy a Macbook Pro. I bought my Macbook Pro 13 inch. I just used the low-end since it's obviously..cheaper. =P

Oh well, I'm not gonna get it straight away on using Mac since I have been a Windows user for like..years. I love the design thou. My colleague was not kidding when she said she feels happy everytime she looks at her Mac. LOL.

And thus...the journey with my Mac has officially begun...=)

Bakmi GM - All time favourite

I've been a fan of Bakmi GM since childhood. I remember last time we had to drive to Gajah Mada to eat this place. And see nowadays, they are everywhere. Really. And everytime I eat this, these three things are a MUST.
Fruit Punch

Pangsit Goreng

Bakmi Spesial GM
Clean bowl! Happy eating...=)

Start the rabbit year by becoming a glutton...(day 1)

Gonna put a brief description of my sudden transformation into a glutton here. Oh gosh, I better get some exercises as soon as I'm back at Singapore.

Asoka at Serpong is famous for its black pepper crab which is so peppery!! And big too! It's quite a hassle to finish this. Too peppery for my tongue.

They also have this escargot in Padang sauce..lol. (Actually it was called Keong Macan with Padang Sauce). My first time eating keong. And they are surprisingly...hard to chew. I always think that keong should be gooey and slimy. The sauce is damn good!
And lastly we found out about this weird wine ice cream by mochila or whatever it's called at Gandaria City. They are selling mochi ice cream too. The ice cream tastes more like tape rather than alcohol! Udders is better by miles!!

The food above are only the beginning....

The Year of Rabbit starts with a good breakfast

It is the first morning of the Rabbit Year. I just woke up and there's always no breakfast in my house. Oh well, no problemo. I just grabbed what I managed to buy yesterday (no, not carrot). Ta-da.

It's basically Chitato coated with chocolate. Which I don't mind. Haha. Tastes quite good but it won't make me buy 8 boxes in one go. One box is priced at S$15.00.

Now let me continue nibbling my breakfast..nom..nom...hmmm..chocolate...

Oh nearly forgot, GONG XI FA CHAI! =D

Coming back home for CNY

There's no way I'm gonna be stuck in Singapore for Chinese New Year. So like usual, I'm going back home to Jakarta. There was no delay at all and therefore, I arrived on time. Unfortunately, my mom was still stuck in the traffic (oh no!). I'm walking around trying to look for a place to sit and wait. Tony Jack (which is the equivalent of McD here) was closed (heck?). And then...I saw the light at the end of the road. HOKA-HOKA BENTO!! Yay!

Only paket A was ready, so I immediately ordered it (super hungry!). Oh gosh, it tastes heavenly for me..hahaha. This food always gives me nostalgic feeling. Yummy yummy shrimp roll....=D

My new perfume : Jean Paul Gaultier - Madame

I finally bought my most desirable perfume since like...last year? And I am indeed a happy girl. For me, the smell is kinda unique. I never like citrusy perfume before but I think this one works. Well I guess www.nstperfume.com can explain the scent better than me.

"fizzy and bright and fruity-citrusy, it is sweet but not candied, and has the perfect amount of peppery kick"

The perfume costs me S$129 (50ml) at TANGS but it comes with the scented body lotion and the sampler (aaawww!! I am a total sucker for sampler. I collect them all!).

Spray! Spray! Spray! And smell good! =)
